IMG_3974 Wilson's Ice Cream Store

Wilson's Ice Cream Store shows the much loved iconic little restaurant that has served visitors to Ephraim in Door County, Wisconsin for many decades.  Its' red and white striped awnings and white wood building features a porch, an outdoor patio for dining and homemade  ice cream.  The painting was painted directly, using expressive brushwork to capture the simple charm of the paned windows, striped awnings and porch railings.  It uses bright colors and open edges to bring a sense of motion into the scene.  It was painted on Arches hot pressed watercolor paper, float mounted, double matted and framed with a classic wood frame and non glare glass.
