IMG_4043 Observation Deck, Ridges Sanctuary

Observation Deck, Ridges Sanctuary is a poured painting, created by pouring a liquid watercolor onto paper saturated with water.  Sharply contrasted crisp edges define the foreground grasses, lily pads floating in the swale and the boardwalk structure.  Its low viewpoint emphasizes the flatness of the horizon, water and sky relationships, providing a feeling of peace, while the red railings on the deck are a surprise focal point.  This painting was created on hot pressed Arches watercolor paper and is float mounted, double matted and framed with conservation materials.
