IMG_4161 Brady Street

Brady Street represents a special style of depicting neighborhoods.  I have painted  neighborhood scenes for several corporations, including Baird and Northwestern Mutual, showing typical characteristics of a particular place and time.  Brady Street is a small, one block pocket of counterculture, cobbled together family shops, restaurants and long time relationships.  I was fascinated by this tiny "Garage" enterprise, with  its sooty cinder block construction overgrown by red ivy and sporting a backwards Packer logo.  The young jaywalker adds personality to the street, along with the golden red fall leaves.  It is framed in a four inch gold leaf plein aire frame and double float matted.
