IMG_4540 2 Cedarburg Bog

Cedarburg Bog is an original watercolor painting created April 2019 on Arches hot pressed watercolor board.  My goal was to capture the ambience of a summer morning in a wetland fen, which is a low area filled with fresh water flowing through it.  The bog reflects the cumulous clouds and tall swamp grasses simultaneously with the pattern of the lily pads floating on its surface.  A blue heron brings motion to the otherwise still scene.  This painting is part of a series in Ozaukee's Natural Treasures and measures 34" by 42" framed and float mounted.  It is available at the Cedarburg Cultural Center until October 13, 2019.
