After The Rain

After The Rain is an original watercolor depicting an autumn landscape that features an archway of  maple  and pine trees near a driveway with sun rays, blue water puddles and fallen bright leaves.  This scene was a brief transition between the vibrant orange red and yellow glory and the complete drop of all the leaves in a surprise Halloween snowstorm the following day.   The change of seasons makes these beautiful scenes precious to capture.  After The Rain was created on hot pressed Arches 300 lb  watercolor paper with techniques of wet in wet underpainting washes, the use of negative strokes to create forms, and various textural applications including glazing, scraping with a palette knife, splattering, lifting and building up color intensity.  It is available through the artist and will be displayed at the Cedarburg Artists' Guild Holiday Art Fair December 8, 9, and 10, 2023  from 10 AM to 5 PM in the Cedarburg Community Center, W63 N641 Washington Avenue Cedarburg.
