Mequon Neighborhood was created for an art exhibit in Crossroads Presbyterian Church's new exhibition space, Gallery Immanuel.  It is one of a collection of full size, framed watercolor paintings which depict the communities who  participate in the mission programs of the congregation:  Mequon, Thiensville, Grafton, Cedarburg, Port Washington and Milwaukee St. Ben's  Cathedral.  This exhibit will open to the public on Sunday, September 29, 2024 with a reception at 10:15am.  Everyone is welcome to attend the reception and to visit the exhibit during office hours until the show closes on October 29.  Paintings will remain in the exhibit, Serving Our Communities, until the closing date, after which they will be available for sale from the artist.

Mequon Neighborhood is a watercolor painting of  autumn in late afternoon.  The warm colors of a maple tree are contrasted with gray, sepia and purple shadows.   Transparent Orange, Yellow and Alizarin Crimson were used to create the autumn scene in a colorful, dramatic Wisconsin fall.  This neighborhood is typical of many in southeast Ozaukee County with its large acre yards.  It is common to see residents walking with their dogs or children along  the road, visiting or doing yard work.
